Discover the exceptional quality of our Alberta pork shoulder roast, sourced from a family farm. This cut is renowned for its rich marbling and deep flavor, making it ideal for slow-cooked recipes such as pulled pork, hearty stews, and traditional roasts. The generous fat content ensures the meat remains moist and tender during cooking, delivering a succulent dining experience.
Cooking Recommendations
For optimal tenderness, cook the pork shoulder slowly at a low temperature. A common method is to roast it in the oven at 250°F (120°C) until the internal temperature reaches 180°F (82°C) for sliceable meat or up to 205°F (96°C) for easily shreddable pork. This process can take several hours, depending on the size of the roast.
Braising with some flavorfull liquid is a classic and highly effective method which breaks down the connective tissue while locking in moisture, making it perfect for pulled pork, tacos, sandwiches, or hearty meals.
Packaging
Roast has been wrapped in netting to maintain its shape and even cooking. The netting can be removed prior to cooking if you prefer.
