Cooking Recommendations
For a classic preparation, try oven-roasting the pork hocks. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Season the hocks with salt and pepper, place them in a roasting pan with sliced onions and garlic, and roast for about 25 minutes until the skin crisps. Then, reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (177°C), add herbs like bay leaves and spices such as juniper berries, cover, and continue roasting for 2 to 3 hours until the meat is tender and easily pulls away from the bone.
Pork hocks are excellent for making broth or stock—they’re rich in connective tissue, which breaks down into gelatin, giving your broth a deep, savory flavor and luxurious texture.

Roast has been wrapped in netting to maintain its shape and even cooking. The netting can be removed prior to cooking if you prefer.
